Road times on the main approaches, by road only: no ferries. Turn up and go. Leave-by allows the 10 minutes before departure the operator asks for.
Road times are as the road is now. On the day, check again, or set leave alerts on the pier’s Plan a trip, which re-check the traffic that morning.

Typically 3h 5m, not a live time
Leave by 04:45 on Thu 29 Oct. Open directions to Tayinloan in Google MapsChecked once when you tap it, not tracked. Turn it off any time.
Google Maps opens set to avoid ferries. Apple Maps cannot be: if it offers a route with a ferry in it, pick a road-only route, as a cancelled ferry can cost you the sailing.
Typical off-peak drive times, not live traffic. Allow extra at peak times, on single-track roads and in poor weather, and check the road before a long run. Tap a leave-by time for live traffic and turn-by-turn directions in your own map app.
